Prince of Wales Window Appeal.....
As a listed building, it is important that the Prince of Wales maintains its character and charm. Our wooden sash windows are in need of replacement, these come at a great cost to the Community Benefit Society that own the building. If you would like to contribute to our Repair Pot, you can do so by purchasing a Prince of Wales Pen, this will be posted to you. You can also buy a Virtual Pint at our online shop!

The Prince of Wales is situated in the hamlet of Newtown on the Lizard Peninsula.
The pub was purchased in October 2022 by shareholding members of the community along with the help of fundraising groups, after sadly being closed for 2 years.
It was reopened November 2022 by tenants David, Emma and Michelle.
We are proud to run this beautiful 16th Century country pub on the Lizard Peninsula. We have a wonderful log burning fire to keep you warm whilst eating and drinking with us on those cold winter days.
We welcome dogs and always have a treat on hand for your 4 legged friend. There are board games available for family fun with the children too, we have a dart board for people over 14.
Our Pub
If you love a nice cold gin and tonic then you can enjoy one of the local gins mixed with a Marlish tonic, made in Cornwall. We stock a wide selection of beers, always having at least 2 ales available, Offshore Lager, Atlantic Pale Ale as well as Cornish Orchard Cider and Healeys Rattler Cyder.
There is a Beer Garden to the rear, it is a real sun trap in the warmer months and is away from the road. It becomes the perfect settling for our outdoor Summer Music Sessions which are held on various dates June- September.
We also have Customer Parking at the rear, accessed via the lane at the side of the pub.
Our 2 rooms offer kingsize beds and en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are next door to each other so perfect for a group wanting to stay. The rooms offer a self-catering style breakfast which can be prepared by guests at their leisure.
Snug Shop
In Spring 2025 we opened a small shop inside the pub. The shop offers milk, bread, eggs, cupboard essentials and seasonal extras such as disposable BBQs, Charcoal in summer or Kindling and Coal in colder months.
Food
Our kitchen offers a wide range of local produce, we use a local farmer and stockist for vegetables and our meat is from Trevarthan Cornish Butchers. The fish that we use is always sustainably sourced and we are fortunate to be able to buy directly from local fisherman aswell from larger Cornish fish suppliers. We can cater for anybody that has specific dietary needs but we do use gluten products in our kitchen. We offer alternatives to gluten products aswell as alternative options for vegans.

THE COMMUNITY AND CUSTOMERS OF PRINCE OF WALES
Our pub has plenty of character and charm! Unfortunately this incurs alot of costs to maintain.
Our windows and roof are ancient and in need of some TLC. It is a listed building so we have to look after them with only the best professional care and expertise.
We have new shareholders coming on board to own a part of the pub, this money helps to keep the building in good repair and makes it possible to renew and improve assets.
